** About the article's horrible title: Abby Cohn apologized to me, to the Sisterhood, and to discerning readers everywhere for it. It was not, I assure you, a direct quote.

"The first title I wrote was just straight-forward," Abby said. "My editor looked at it and said 'I don't think anyone will read the article'," and he told her to come up with "something snappy." The faux-quote here was the result.

I guess I should be pleased. Cohn spelled my name right and the article is fairly accurate, although it's, like, dumbified for the general public.

Sigh.
